Tactile Switches for Mechanical Keyboards

Tactile switches feature a noticeable resistance during the keystroke, commonly referred to as a tactile bump. Unlike clicky switches, they do not produce an additional clicking sound through a click mechanism. The intensity of the tactile bump and where it occurs during the key travel vary depending on the switch. Actuation force, actuation point and total travel also influence the typing feel, allowing you to choose between different tactile variants.

In addition to tactile switches, you can find other switch types with different characteristics:

• Linear switches: without a noticeable tactile bump or additional click mechanism
• Clicky switches: with a noticeable tactile bump and characteristic clicking sound
• Silent switches: with a dampened keystroke for reduced noise
