    Pumps for Liquid Cooling

Pumps are just as essential in a water cooling circuit as radiators or the water coolers themselves. Since the coolant needs to circulate as quickly as possible within the circuit, for which natural convection from the radiator is not sufficient, an additional pump is needed. This pump circulates the coolant throughout the entire water cooling loop. It is important that the pump's corresponding delivery performance is sufficient for the various components of the entire circuit. The noise level can also vary between different pumps. Therefore, one should exercise caution when purchasing pumps.

Pumps are also offered with different voltages, among other things. So, you can choose either a 12V pump or one with 220 - 240V voltage. Both have advantages and disadvantages. 230V pumps need to be switched on via an outlet, while 12V pumps are somewhat more cumbersome to fill. Pumps can also be used externally and can be connected via USB, among other things, if there is not enough space in the case.

Pumps for water cooling are essential for operation

The pumps from Laing (D5) and Eheim, as well as from other manufacturers, serve as widely used reference models. Some manufacturers also equip their pumps with visually appealing covers. These can be similar to the water coolers, made of acrylic glass and enhanced with LEDs. Some pumps can be directly screwed to a reservoir that belongs to the same product series. This not only looks good but also probably saves space in the case in the end. Some manufacturers sell such a combination of pump and reservoir already assembled as a set.

Those who do not want to lose control over their water cooling circuit can additionally obtain temperature sensors and a pump controller. This allows you to analyze the water cooling circuit and regulate the temperature with the appropriate components (e.g., PWM fans on the radiators).
